--What is Spaceman Deke?--

Spaceman Deke is a point-and-click graphical adventure game similar to Day of the Tentacle, The Neverhood and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. It's about and alien named Deke who crashes his flying saucer on Earth and has to repair it.

It's also a small scale test for me to see exactly what's involved in making such a game in flash, which is why it's a bit on the under-polished side. Turns out that it's a lot of work, especially when you're just one person and you're not a very skilled programmer. The idea is that using what i've learned from this game, i can make bigger, better games.

For information on these future games as they are up and coming, just give me a watch. I update my journal pretty regularly with developer blog type stuff.

--How to Play--

After the extremely well animated opening cut scene plays, just point and click wherever you want Deke to walk, or click on any people or things that might seem interesting. The idea is to retrieve the three parts of your ship that you're missing so you can leave this backwater little planet.

--Update--

Fixed kind of a major bug that caused the game to end as soon as you pick up the lazer turret... which it's not supposed to do. Now the game ends properly when all three components are returned to the ship, like it's supposed to.

Because there's nothing there that can help you. For most of the development, there used to be another area between the park and the science fair which was the playground area of the school. Towards the end, i took this area out because nothing at all happened there. It was just artifically padding the length of the game by making you walk farther.

The stage area itself never existed, and there were never even any plans to have one. It's just there as a red herring and as a little something to flesh out the world a bit.

Goddamn we need people like you in the gaming industry.

I miss these old point and click games. I have noticed they have been making a slow comeback but not to the degree I would like them to. Anyway you did a good job here it's nicely presented and an absolute treat to play. I may have to keep my eye on your gallery. Keep up the good work =)
